Senior Account Executive - Healthcare Packaging Solutions

Impact Plastics is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Senior Account Executive for our Healthcare Packaging Solutions. Candidates applying to the position should demonstrate a proven track record of new business development and account expansion with direct experience in the Medical & Pharmaceutical Packaging and OEM Medical Device markets.

Impact Plastics is a leader in custom-extruded rollstock products designed for rigid thermoformed medical, food and custom thermoformed packaging applications, with an emphasis on the development of innovative, sustainable, and high-quality barrier & non-barrier packaging solutions for thermoforming and form-fill-seal processes.

The primary responsibilities of this position will be focused on opportunity development for several new products in our portfolio of medical-grade rigid packaging materials both with new and existing customers for thermoformed and form-fill-seal medical & pharmaceutical packaging applications. This position is remote, and travel is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan for the specified market to be used as a blueprint for daily activities to be reviewed by management.
  • Open new accounts & develop opportunities through lead generation, prospecting, networking, inbound leads, and referrals, with a specific focus on the sale of Impact Plastics’ new medical packaging materials.
  • Work with the current sales team to identify opportunities for account expansion at existing medical thermoforming customers with a specific focus on the sale of Impact Plastics’ new medical packaging materials.
  • Participate in weekly Commercial Update meetings with management to report and communicate current performance achievements within the target market.
  • Work with marketing to identify, analyze and recommend actions to meet strategic objectives and unmet customer needs.
  • Collaborate with marketing to optimize inbound lead generation, marketing & advertising activities for new medical packaging materials.
  • Coordinate Sales Management, R&D, and Field Service in support of validation trials and customer trials.
  • Travel to current customers and prospects to present solutions, collaborate on product development, assist in validation trials, and provide technical support as needed.
  • Represent Impact Plastics medical packaging solutions at industry conferences, trade shows & related events and give presentations where applicable.
  • Build collaborative relationships between Impact Plastics and your customers and develop strategic relationships across key business units including but not limited to senior leadership, procurement, engineering, quality, and operations with the objective of enhancing account management and product development above and beyond customer requirements & expectations.
  • Provide sales support & account management services to customers as needed including, providing consultation when problems arise, rendering technical assistance, and help with delivery issues when needed.
  • Communicate customer requirements to various departments within Impact Plastics to ensure customer specifications including production, quality, finance, and management teams.
  • Work with senior management to develop pricing strategy for target accounts.

Experience & Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5-10 years’ experience with strong track record of end-use selling, opportunity generation and account management specifically in rigid thermoformed packaging solutions for OEM Medical & Pharmaceutical companies.
  • Minimum educational achievement of a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experiential understanding of medical & pharmaceutical packaging & validation requirements.
  • Basic understanding of sheet extrusion, thermoforming and form-fill-seal processes, and a familiarity with commonly used medical & pharmaceutical packaging materials.
  • Self-starter with good organization skills & attention to detail.
  • Ability to independently manage projects with many moving parts, conduct thorough and timely follow-up, and a demonstrated track record of moving validation projects forward.
  • Ability & willingness to use appropriate computer applications for management of the sales & product development process.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Experience cold calling and developing a prospecting plan.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within North America & proactively set up meetings with target accounts.
